My Shabby College Fund

Hey guys! So I've been trying a lot of new paints and top coats.. and I'm pretty happy with how this peice turned out. At first, I thought about pulling off the pieces the second drawer down and sand it, but I decided to leave it to give the dresser more texture (so happy I left it!). I was at Jo-ann's with my mom and came across a chalk paint line called Buttercream, all the paint was 75% off so I grabbed an assortment of colors to try! I tried out one of the colors on a frame to make sure it was good.. it worked really well so I went for it on this dresser with the color "Shadowlands" from Buttercream. My stepdad has been getting really into woodworking lately and recommended this polyurethane from Home Depot, made by Varathane. I know officially swear by this stuff. Don't get me wrong, I love how wax looks, but it's hot...

So my mom has this space above her refrigerator that she has been wanting to redecorate for a while now. After spending hours (yes, this decorating stuff takes some time) at two Hobby Lobby's, we found some pretty awesome things! My mom likes the "vintage shabby chic farmhouse" look and doesn't like the "looks like this came from my grandmas house (in a bad way)" look. I'm guilty for liking some things that should probably be burned or should have been left in the 1900's. Anyways, back to decorating my moms refrigerator space.. After setting out all the Hobby Lobby things, the space looked good, but needed some filler. So I went into my old room and into my trunk of random things that I hoard (you can never have too much silver!) and can't get rid of because they're vintage and pretty. I dug out some silver pieces, an old bottle and some old books, perfect! The things we...

I want to share with you all this drawing of my mom I did in my first college semester. For my Drawing 1 class, we explored portraits. I decided to draw of portrait of my mom from when we went to Butterfly Wonderland in Scottsdale, AZ. Previous to this class, I've worked with charcoal in high school, but it has been a few years. I posted this picture on Instagram for my moms birthday a couple weeks back, but totally forgot to post it on here! Hope you enjoy :)...

Hi guys! Here's a before and after of a vintage dresser. When I found the dresser it was missing some knobs, so I had to replace them. I decided on some cute little knobs I found at hobby lobby. I wanted to do something different for this dresser, so I decided to go with Martha Stewart Vintage Decor Paint color: Linen for the dresser and Americana Decor Paint color: Primitive for the drawers. Hi everyone! I'm so excited to share this video with you. For one of my design classes we had to write a biography and create either an info graph (gross), a poster (boring), a website (already been done) or a video for the entrepreneur we chose. For my entrepreneur I decided to pick my friend Savannah Ashley. I've been living in Phoenix for two years now, when I first moved here I came across this Vintage Market called Junk in The Trunk. Anxiously waiting, when the weekend finally came, my mom and I went to JITTVM. (If you haven't been, you're REALLY missing out!) Anyways, as we walked around the market in awe, I noticed a pattern in age with most of the vendors, they were all older than me. Then I came across Savannah's booth. I didn't know her name or anything about her, I was so excited to see someone my age in the same little niche industry...
